Unleash the Courage to Start
Is there a goal or project you’ve been putting off—writing that book, starting a business, reconnecting with someone, or uplevelling your health? If you feel stalled, it is most likely facing FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real. It disguises itself as logic and whispers about failure and unworthiness.
Here’s how I silence it: I use a positive statement to intercept any negative thoughts. Then, I redirect my mind to breaking down the mission into small, actionable steps. I identify one clear step I can take, and I take it. Then, I rinse and repeat—one step at a time. With this simple process, what once appeared to me as an insurmountable mountain reveals a clear path up.
Cutting distractions that pose as obstacles is also key. That usually means deleting unnecessary things from your schedule and asking for help where you lack competency. All worthy projects are a team effort.
So take a deep breath, deploy this simple process, and get busy. One small action today puts you on the path to momentum. Then you do it again tomorrow… that’s how a warrior leader wins.

The Pause Practice: This week, set the intention to practice The Pause—a simple but powerful habit of creating space between stimulus and response. Patience isn’t just about waiting; it’s about how you wait—with awareness and calm. Identify three moments in your day when impatience tends to show up: in traffic, during meetings, in conversation, or while waiting on someone. When the urge to react hits, pause. Take a deep breath, notice how impatience feels in your body (tight chest, clenched jaw), and silently name it: “This is impatience.” Then choose your response. To strengthen the habit, jot down one moment you paused and one you missed in a short evening reflection. Over time, this rewires reactivity into thoughtful, patient action.
