Mark here. Here’s what we have in store for this week…
WHAT I’M WRITING ABOUT
Know Thyself
“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.”― Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching
As leaders, we often focus on understanding and managing our teams, which is essential. However, true leadership begins with self-awareness. By knowing ourselves—our strengths, weaknesses, and motivations—we gain the wisdom to lead authentically. Mastery over others may bring short-term success, but mastering oneself fosters resilience, empathy, and genuine influence. Embrace self-reflection and personal growth to unlock your true potential as a leader. Remember, the journey inward is the path to lasting power and impactful leadership. Unbeatable Mind’s 30-day challenge is a good place to embark on the path toward self-knowledge (check it out at www.unbeatablemind.com/challenge).
NEW EPISODE – THE MARK DIVINE SHOW
Episode # 467 The Psychology of Resilient Leadership with Neuropsychologist Dr. Julia DiGang
Dr. Julia DiGangi is an expert in neuropsychology, specializing in the connection between the brain, emotions, and relationships. Through her extensive research and clinical practice at esteemed institutions such as Harvard, Columbia, and Georgetown, Dr. DiGangi explores how the brain manages stress and resilience. Her work, extensively published in the scientific community, applies neuroscience to enhance leadership skills, improve entrepreneurial innovation, enrich parenting, and strengthen personal relationships. Her professional journey includes significant roles such as working with leaders at The White House Press Office, advising global corporations, and supporting international NGOs and US Special Forces.
Podcast Highlights:
While talking with Dr. DiGangi, I was intrigued by her insights for leaders and how unaddressed trauma poses a significant barrier, restricting their capacity to navigate challenges with clarity and understanding. She emphasized how coping mechanisms developed in childhood, while once essential for survival, can morph into shackles that inhibit effective leadership in adulthood. We also covered how The brain is adverse to uncertainty, but seeking external certainty breeds anxiety; this is why learning to surrender and trust ourselves and life is critical to living in balance and harmony.

WHAT’S INSPIRING ME
The power of language shapes reality, which means how we talk internally and externally has an impact. By embodying impeccability in internal and external dialogue, we cultivate trust within ourselves and respect in our relationships. As a leader and with myself, I always aim to communicate with clarity, sincerity, and compassion to stay inspired in daily interactions. Impeccability in words serves as a guiding principle for living with integrity and intention.

Body Scan for Emotional Awareness and Relaxation: This week, commit to 5 minutes to sit daily in a space where you can close your eyes and take deep breaths. You can also do this lying down on your bed or yoga mat. Notice your body in relation to what it is coming into contact with, such as the floor or ground. Set an intention for the practice. Release any judgments and become a watchful observer; start scanning at the top of your head, noticing any sensations. Slowly scan down, observing each body part’s sensations, from forehead to toes. Notice tension or relaxation without trying to change it. Use your breath to ground yourself and return to awareness if you get into judgment or a story, acknowledging any emotions that arise. Explore sensations in the abdomen, pelvis, and hips with gentleness. Continue down to thighs, knees, calves, and feet, fully inhabiting each part. Take a moment to integrate the experience, feeling gratitude for your body and being. Take a breath, exhale through your mouth, wiggle your fingers and toes, and open your eyes. Reflect on any shifts in emotional state or physical tension. Remember, you can return to this practice for grounding and relaxation.
That’s all for now! See you next week.
Hooyah!
