Being Present to What Is

Following a recent unexpected injury, I’m taking time to pause and heal. I see this healing pause as a fantastic opportunity to really connect with what’s unfolding right in front of me, moment by moment. I have been able to stick with my daily box breathing and meditation practices, which have proven foundational for remaining grounded and present. This only highlights the power of these tools in my mind and why they are so important for us to do daily as leaders.

I sincerely appreciate the incredible support from my immediate family and the wonderful SEALFIT and Unbeatable Mind communities—you’ve all shown so much love and encouragement. It’s a great reminder of the power of community, and that rest is key to our growth and productivity.
As you navigate your days this week, I encourage you to carve out just a few minutes to pause. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and find your center. Being present is so essential for embracing a leadership mindset. Hooyah!

PRACTICE OR HABIT TO TRY

Rest as a Practice: Rest is crucial for mental and physical recovery, yet often overlooked. To embrace its power, schedule intentional breaks throughout your day—take 3-5 minutes daily to sit and be present. During this time, focus on your breath and practice sitting still while observing the experience. Remember, taking these small pauses doesn’t mean slowing down—it will help recharge you, allowing for more effective productivity and clarity when you return to your tasks.
