Theme: Recognize opportunities for growth amidst “threats”.
Tip: Create a daily practice of asking yourself, “What did I learn or what can I learn from the threats that I encountered today?”
Training: (1) Morning Ritual (20 minutes of each: yoga, box-breathing, meditation), (2) 200 burpees, and (3) a WOD (“Workout of the Day”) — 5 rounds of: (a) 500m row, (b) 20 GHD sit-ups, and (c) 20 one-arm clean & jerks
Practice: Inhaling opportunity, forward momentum, and growth. Exhaling stress, fear, and anxiety. 8-counts in, 8-counts out. Relax and win in your mind.
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
Challenges and threats in life are guaranteed . . . It’s how we deal with the challenges and threats that defines our leadership to our tribe, either as a pessimist or optimist. Every challenge is an opportunity for reflection, growth, and realignment. Remember, our leadership is refined and practiced in the everyday moments of life. Using your thoughts and reactions to the stressful events you may have encountered today, what kind of leader–optimist or pessimist–would you consider yourself today?
